Antiques, perfume, and the palace

Our morning began as it always does on on board, breakfast on the veranda. We then made our way to the gangway and onto the tender to the town of Villefranche that served our jumping off point for visits to Nice and Monaco.
We always enjoy the market in nice but this time we were surprised to see the typical food, flowers, and soaps replaced by rare, opulent, and quirky antiques on a Monday morning. After making a purchase of our own and stopping at Jennifer’s favorite perfume store, we strolled the Promenade des Anglais. A memorial remains and we could not understand people taking pictures there, quietly pay your respect & move on.  The temperature and light could not have been better that morning.  It really was “picture perfect.”

Soon we were off to Monaco where we spent the afternoon on the Rock touring Saint Nicholas Cathedral, where Grace Kelly wed Prince Rainer III, the Palace, and the beautiful gardens.

We headed back to the boat for some rest and relaxation before joking with friends from the night before in the main dining room.
